Published on Wed, 08/04/2010

A new faculty development program at Oregon Health & Science University provides leadership training for faculty members.

The pilot program, which has now launched, consists of two teams whose objective is to tackle both the business and financial aspects of a particular issue, all on a self-made work schedule specific to the project. The teams hold weekly small group discussions where they incorporate the CoachingOurselves model and material. The groups use a variety of topics, including High Performing Teams, Probing into Culture, Appreciating Appreciative Inquiry, and Strategic Thinking as Seeing.

The “Paths to Leadership” program “is designed to tap internal faculty resources in order to address complex organizational issues”.
