Let’s face it: feedback is usually painful. We’re uncomfortable giving feedback and even more uncomfortable receiving it. Defensiveness, frustration, embarrassment… they’re all part of the human experience… and too often the performance review experience. But Marshall Goldsmith is known for his communication techniques and has developed a simple, effective way of giving and receiving feedback, honing this in practice with over 10,000 employees of companies.

In this CoachingOurselves session, you will have an opportunity to practice the technique “FeedFORWARD” with your colleagues. You will learn how to shift the focus from a problematic past to an expansive, dynamic future. You can encourage more effective communication assured that the person receiving it is receptive to your ideas and in doing so, increase morale and productivity. Finally, you will discuss with your group which areas are ripe for change within your unit and organization and how you could best introduce this technique for positive growth.

Marshall Goldsmith is a renowned leadership expert, author of 23 books, ranked by Forbes as one of the five most-respected executive coaches, named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top ten executive educators, and the namesake of the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management, Alliant International University’s school of business and organizational psychology.
